A little bit about me
I won’t bore you with a long, detailed story of my life; however, I will share a brief synopsis of my experiences to give you a frame of reference for who I am.
I grew up in south Florida to a family of small business owners. My grandfather owned pet stores, my parents owned pet stores, and I by default grew up in that industry. It was a magical childhood surrounded by every kind of animal imaginable and I wouldn’t change, what I now realize was a truly unique upbringing, for the world. Travel was also a big part of my childhood. My parents took my siblings and I on many adventures across the U.S. and Europe and I have inherited their love for travel.
I have had the opportunity to work in several different fields after leaving home to begin college in Tennessee. I was a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym while I pursued my undergraduate degree. I met and married my beautiful wife during this time and we moved back to south Florida soon after graduation. I became a police officer for several years in Florida and I also worked on the Underwater Search and Recovery Team as a diver for the police department. I eventually decided to change careers and continue my education. After being accepted into and completing graduate school I was very fortunate to begin working as an accountant for the largest, most prestigious accounting firm in the world. I worked there only briefly before I realized the sacrificial demand of my life for the profession was a necessary requirement, and one I was not willing to make. I am now beginning a new chapter of my life as a contract specialist for the federal government which provides a balance to pursue both my personal and professional interests.
I have had the opportunity to travel to many locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. I have lived in various cities throughout Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, New York, and Maine for periods of time ranging from a couple months to several years.
I hope to continue to have many more adventures and I would love for you to follow along with me here!
